Members of New Destiny Christian Center are upset that Pastor Paula White could be named as the replacement of the late Rev. Zachery Tims. On Sunday, church members received a survey asking if they wanted Pastor Paula White as their next pastor.
There were no other names mentioned on the survey – and that has angered some members of the New Destiny Christian Center, the church Pastor Tims led until his death in August.
Pastor White, who is the senior pastor of Without Walls International Church in Tampa, is also on the board that was charged with finding New Destiny Christian Center’s next pastor.
Another board member, Bishop Ira V. Hilliard, resigned from the board earlier this month, saying:
“My commitment to integrity will not allow me to support something that I believe is deception and that compromises previously agreed upon procedures and protocol.”
Hilliard is a founder of the Association of Independent Ministries, and runs the New Light Christian Center Church in Texas. Hilliard, however, did not refer to Pastor White specifically.
