Javon “Teflon” Gordon needed young girls for his Atlantic City prostitution ring, so he recruited teenagers he found in Philadelphia and other cities, he admitted in court Thursday.

Gordon, 28, of the Bahamas, appeared in federal court in Camden and pleaded guilty to transporting two female minors across state lines for prostitution.

He was caught in 2007 after a 17-year-old runaway from Philadelphia told Atlantic City police she had been beaten by Gordon, her pimp of a month, according to a federal criminal complaint.

To control his prostitutes, both minors and adults, Gordon abused and threatened them and kidnapped those unwilling to follow orders, the complaint said.

The teenager told police her family was struggling financially when she met a prostitute in Philadelphia. That woman suggested the teen, known as “Baby Girl,” work for Gordon, the complaint said.

Gordon admitted Thursday that he picked the girl up in the city and took her to New Jersey, where he set her up as a hooker. He posted nude pictures of her on the website Craigslist to attract clients.

Gordon currently is serving a one-year state sentence for promoting prostitution in Atlantic City.

Federal investigators filed the additional charges following a sting in which Gordon also allegedly attempted to recruit an undercover officer as a prostitute.

If convicted, Gordon faces a minimum of 10 years and a possible life sentence.
