Marcus Hayes Says The Eagles Should Sign Kaepernick To Be Foles’ Backup

Philly.com- The Eagles are in position to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in 13 years, and for the third time ever. The Eagles also are in position to have to play Nate Sudfeld.

One big hit to Nick Foles — a sprained ankle, a cracked collarbone, a concussion — and it’s Nate’s show.

It could be Kaepernick’s. It should be Kaepernick’s.

Nate Sudfeld was fine as developmental roster fodder. He was fine as long as he was stashed behind Carson Wentz and backup Nick Foles. Now that Wentz’s left ACL is torn, is Sudfeld the player you want a heartbeat behind Foles when the Seahawks come to Philly for a playoff game?

Granted, that situation might never materialize. But you can’t go all-in and keep a few chips in your pocket.

If you don’t want Kaepernick because he kneels during the anthem, then you prefer hollow, misdirected patriotism to winning. He has flaws, but kneeling isn’t one of them. If Kaep wants to kneel, you should neatly fold a towel and place it on the ground so his knee stays clean.

Reuters- U.S. prosecutors on Tuesday brought federal charges against the suspect in Monday’s attempted suicide bombing in one of New York City’s busiest commuter hubs, accusing him of supporting a foreign terrorist organization.

Akayed Ullah, a 27-year-old Bangladeshi and self-described supporter of Islamic State, was also charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. district court in Manhattan with bombing a public place, destruction of property by means of explosive and use of a destructive device.

Ullah planned to “murder as many human beings as he could … in support of a vicious terrorist cause,” acting U.S. attorney Joon Kim told a news conference after filing the charges.

New York police say Ullah set off a pipe bomb in an underground corridor of the subway system that connects Times Square to the Port Authority Bus Terminal at rush hour on Monday morning, injuring himself and three others.

He told police interviewers after the blast that “I did it for the Islamic State,” according to court papers filed by federal prosecutors.

For One Stunning Night, There Was Ala-black-ma

Democratic Senate Candidate Doug Jones Holds Election Night Watch Party In Birmingham

AL.com- After all the efforts through the years to diminish and even disenfranchise black voters across Alabama–we showed up and showed out.

That Jones pulled off what was long-ago declared would be the “Mount Rushmore of upsets” in stunning Moore last night to become the first Democrat to win a U.S. Senate seat in Alabama since the early 1990s is due to black voters.

Sure, some reasonable Republicans just couldn’t stomach the idea of sending a law-breaking, slavery-lovin’, (alleged) child-chaser to the Senate and simply stayed home.

But make no mistake: Jones owes this seismic win to the wave of African Americans who swept to polls all across the state and overwhelmingly voted for him.

Blacks turned out at levels not seen in this state since Barack Obama faced John McCain in the 2008 U.S. presidential race.

Early numbers indicated African Americans represented 30 percent of all voters. That’s a higher percentage than when Obama faced McCain in 2008.

A few minutes into his acceptance speech at the Sheraton, Jones stretched out his arms and said: “To my friends in the African-American community: thank you!”
