Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown passed away Sunday at age 22. Bobbi Kris was found unresponsive face down in a bathtub in her Georgia home on Jan. 31, less than two weeks before the third anniversary of her mother’s passing. According to police, Bobby Kristina’s boyfriend Nick Gordon and a friend discovered her in the bathtub; in addition, bruises were found on Bobbi Kristina’s face and body. The incident still remains under investigation.
Bobbi Kristina had been placed in a medically induced coma for swelling of the brain and on life support. She had been in hospice care since June 24. Once doctors informed the family that there was no chance she would recover, they decided to take her off of all medication.
Meanwhile, the time that elapsed from when Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in January until her death Sunday will make it “complicated” for the medical examiner to reconstruct events that caused her unresponsiveness, which led to her eventual death. A timeframe for the autopsy was not given by the medical examiner; however, it might take several weeks.
Pat Houston, the aunt of Bobbi Kristina, released a statement to ABC on behalf of the family, which stated, “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
