Since this is the last unofficial weekend of the summer, lots of people will be hitting the roads. While you are packing, make sure you pack plenty of patience if you plan to make some fast food stops. The reason is that some fast-food workers across the country walked out of their jobs on Thursday, demanding higher wages. Workers in about 60 cities staged the loosely organized strike, saying they should be paid $15 an hour and be allowed unionize.

The strike hit McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, KFC and Taco Bell. However, there have been few reports of restaurants having to close or scale back their operations, as other employees filled the gaps.
