- Born on Long Island, New York, Mariah Carey became one of the world’s best-selling female singers in the ’90s.
- Her 1990 self-titled debut album was certified five-times platinum in 1991 and earned her the Best New Artist Grammy. Subsequent albums Emotions, MTV Unplugged, Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly and Rainbow went multi-platinum as well.
- Since then the brand new mother of two and wife of Nick Cannon has released six more albums.
- Mariah Carey’s 14th studio album is set for release in May 2013.
