Pastor Marvin Sapp teamed up with ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Star and R&B songstress Kandi Burruss for a new gospel song titled Stay Prayed Up!
Burruss is a Grammy award winner/singer/songwriter/producer and former member of 90′s girl group Xscape. Burruss has been successful making hits for herself and others and has dabbled in other genres such as country; and now she desires to try gospel.
Burruss penned the song, Stay Prayed Up, sent it to platinum- selling gospel artist/Pastor Marvin Sapp; he liked it and agreed to be featured on the song with her. They both sing about the pain of losing someone close to them and how prayer was the only thing that kept them both going through it all.
Burruss owns a sex toy line and hosts a sexually oriented web show; which are two factors which have struck a bad cord with Christians, critics and viewers of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’. However, Burruss knew she would get flack over the song and she was prepared but believes this song will reach #1 status.
