Former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has been charged with violating federal law by misusing $750,000 in campaign funds, according to the Chicago Tribune. He could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, mail fraud, and false statements. In addition, his wife Sandi Jackson was charged with one count of filing false tax returns. She faces up to three years in prison, a fine of up to $100,000 and other penalties!
