The family of Whitney Houston has decided against having a public ceremony for the legendary singer. Originally they toyed with the idea of having a public memorial service at the Prudential Center in Newark, minutes from where Whitney Houston spent most of her childhood. But the family decided against it, stating they needed more time to grieve within the privacy of their family. They haven’t ruled out the idea of a public memorial service and have stated the importance of sharing this loss with her millions of fans, but no such event is scheduled at this time.
