I don’t pretend to know what love is for everyone or every married couple, but I can tell you what it is for me. Love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of and love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, when you can have the best conversation in the world; and not say a word.

Taking vows spiritually means that you come together as one. However, I have learned personally that you don’t marry one person; you marry three:

1. The person you think they are

2. The person they are

3. And the person they are going to become as a result of being married to you.

Remember, all marriages are a work in progress, with a lifetime contract!

Inspirational Vitamins:

  • Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads, which sew people together through the years.
  • You don’t marry someone you can live with – you marry the person who you cannot live without.
  • A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ come together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
  • Happy marriages begin when we marry the ones we love, and they blossom when we love the ones we marry.
  • The bonds of matrimony are like any other bonds – they mature slowly.
  • The more you invest in a marriage, the more valuable it becomes.
