Daily Faith-Lift
The NIV of Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Therefore, giving opens the way for receiving. Each day we make “our living” by what we get; we make “our lives” by what we give. It’s not “how much we give” but “how much love” we put into giving. For instance, if you have a lot give a lot and if you have a little, give your heart.
I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver. Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness. “Real generosity” is doing something nice for someone who will never find out.
Remember, hands that give also receive. You will receive the best from others when you give the best of yourself. You are the gift of giving.
