The mother of the late Rev. Dr. Zachery Tims has sued the city of New York and the medical examiner’s office in order to keep his cause of death private. Tims’ death has been under the suspicion of drugs, since a powdery substance was found near his body in a New York luxury hotel on August 12th.
Initially, the autopsy was inconclusive, but now that the toxicology reports are back and ready for disclosure, Tims’ mother is uncomfortable with the public knowing the medical examiner’s findings and will do whatever it takes to keep the details from leaking out to the public.
According to official news reports, the legal action, even if successful, will only serve as an unofficial confirmation of wrongdoing on the part of the deceased pastor.
Tims’ four children, his family and his church New Destiny Christian Center remain in our prayers.
