Among those in attendance at the worship/memorial service was Riva Tims, Pastor Tims’ ex-wife. The couple divorced in 2009 after speculation that Zachery Tims had been involved in an affair with a stripper. They have four children together.

After the divorce, Riva Tims left NDCC to start her own church, Majestic Life Ministries in Orlando. She returned to NDCC Monday night to lend her support and offer words of encouragement to members of the Florida megachurch.

“I stand before you tonight in all humility with the power and grace of God and also with the spirit that Zach left behind to press on and not give up,” the former first lady of NDCC said.

“And God saw fit that we would have an opportunity to spend a few days together with him. He was able to fellowship with his sons and his daughters,”she continued, revealing that she and Pastor Tims, their four children, and Pastor Tims’ mother had recently traveled together to Puerto Rico.

“Zachery’s death may have caught us by surprise, but it has not taken God by surprise,”Riva Tims, holding back tears, told the packed room of members and supporters.

After the controversial information leaked, some of his followers urged the public not to judge Tims, especially before any official reports have been issued. “Don’t listen to all the negative things, wait for the conclusion of the matter,”wrote one commenter on NDCC’s Facebook page.

  1. WOw! ALL Of you all have my prayers still and family dont give up or give in to the negative! be bless and restore the hope and trut thur out the church!

  2. Just remember that he was appointed to the leadership role as a man of God by God. We must stay in alignment with God and not speak over this matter for we do not have the authority to do so. Pastor Tims will have that conversation with the maker himself and only our maker will deliver to him what He has for him. Remember that our God is a loving and forgiving God. We all fall short of sin but I do understand the Word of God and when you have been appointed to such a high privilege of tending the flock you do answer to a higher call. No I am definitely not saying this is correct without of course knowing all the facts, but we as the church must not murmur and still remember that God appointed him and we would definitely be out of line to gossip.

  3. ” LET HE, WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE”. WHATEVER, AGAIN W-H-A-T-E-V-E-R THE CASE MAY BE SURROUNDING THE CAUSE OF THIS WONDERFUL MAN’S DEATH IS NOT WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT! WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT IS, ARE WE RIGHT WITH GOD. NO ONE IS BEYOND FALLING & NO ONE IS IMMUNE TO SIN. LET’S FOCUS ON THE WORK THAT WAS DONE FOR THE KINGDOM AND STEP UP TO THE PLATE. THE TORCH WILL CONTINUE TO BE PASSED ON BUT THE FIRE WILL NEVER GO OUT. “BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD….!!”

  4. For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good ,and sinneth not .Ecclesiastes 7:20. James : 4-11-12. How can we love Jesus whom we have not seen and not love our brother who we see daily. Pastor Timms was an anointed and appointed man of God. Keep your mouth off of him and pray for his family!!!!!!!

  5. Isn’t it funny how the church, which use to be a sacred, safe, place of solace is the last place you would want to be when everything hits the fan. It is a crying shame that you don’t feel like you don’t know who you can trust. Alot of the people you trust with sensitive information, you find out later are professional “tongue waggers”. Diarrhea of the lips, if you will. The church is losing its luster, and…focus. Our focus should always be about the edifying and empowering of one another. Encouraging , educating and winning souls for the kingdom. We should be too busy about God’s business than being about spreading folk’s business. Church, we need to be kinder and more sensitive. Lets also try not to take judging out of God’s hands. We have enough to deal with on our own plate. Stay in your lane!!!! Be encouraged Tims family, friends and church!!

  6. in these times we need not judge n point fingers,it’s time 4 us to realize the bible says in the last days there will b great fall away starting in the churches,God is still God no matter what when we c these things look up Jesus is coming soon.don’t be surprise nor disbelieving the bible is true.its just for us to know Jesus for ourselves and to be filled with the true holy spirit of God which will lead us in all truth.so we can discern who is really called by God from who is playing church.the church can’t go under no matter what it was founded upon the blood of Jesus Christ.be encourage.may God grant the family grace and peace to go on.
