    Praise In The City With Tiffany Bacon

    “Praise In The City” is our public affairs program heard Saturdays on Praise 103.9 from 6-8 a.m. This show discusses and addresses issues affecting the Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware area and the nation. We make certain that there is a spiritual angle to our discussion. We want to empower, enlighten and bring hope to the lives of our listeners with “Praise In The City.”

    Tiffany Bacon began her career in radio in 1990 while attending Temple University. The university radio station WRTI sparked a life long love for radio and broadcasting in general. She spend a few years at B101, more than a decade at Power 99FM and now she is happy to be the night jock at 107.9 WRNB and the host of two talk shows on Praise 103.9FM. Outside of her dedication to the field of broadcasting, Ms. Bacon serves as a high school Drama/Dance/Broadcasting teacher. She also founded and manages a improv theater troupe, which includes a few of her students. The iTheatre Company inspires and entertains audiences on a weekly basis. Ms. Bacon is inspired by and a big supporter of the performing arts. She has been an actress, dancer, choreographer, costume designer and director. Tiffany Bacon hopes to continue to share her gifts and knowledge while continuing to learn about herself through discovering the world.

    SOLOMON JONES IS an Essence bestselling author and award-winning journalist who has been featured nationally on NPR’s Morning Edition, CNN Headline News, in Essence magazine, and in a Verizon advertising campaign called Realize, which spotlighted entrepreneurs who overcame adversity to succeed.

    Jones is currently an award-winning columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News and early midday host for Philadelphia’s Praise 107.9 hosting Your Voice from 10am – 12noon Monday – Saturday. He has also worked for 900 am WURD. In addition, he is a blogger and frequent on-air commentator for NPR-affiliate WHYY.

    Jones began his professional writing career in 1993, penning articles for the Philadelphia Tribune while living at the Ridge Avenue Shelter. He graduated cum laude with a journalism B.A. from Temple University in 1997, and went on to be published in Essence, Newsday, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Magazine, and the Philadelphia Weekly. His first novel, Pipe Dream, was published in 2001 by Random House. His subsequent novels include The Bridge, Ride or Die, Cream, Payback, The Last Confession, and The Gravedigger’s Ball. His eighth novel, The Dead Man’s Wife, was published in October 2012 by St. Martin’s Press.

    Jones created Words on the Street, which partners educational, corporate, non-profit, and media entities to impact literacy through the power of writing. An instructor at the Philadelphia School District’s Parent University, Jones has served as spokesman for the district’s Read for Your Life program, served on the board of the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness, visited each of Philadelphia’s municipal prisons to promote reading, and served on the Community Advisory Board of The Doe Fund, an organization that helps homeless men reclaim their lives. Jones has also taught creative writing at Temple University.

    Jones’s award-winning column, the Family Man, is published weekly in the Philadelphia Daily News. The column was selected in 2009 as Philadelphia’s best editorial column by the Society of Professional Journalists. Jones’s blog, the Philadelphia Experiment is published weekly on Newsworks.org.

    A married father of three, Jones is a national voice on marriage and fatherhood. His parenting columns have been published by Essence magazine, and a pilot based on Jones’s award-winning Philadelphia Daily News column was optioned by NBC’s Peacock Productions. A recipient of the American Cities Foundation’s “Men Making A Difference” award, the Father’s Day Rally Committee’s “Father of the Year” award, the Knight Foundation’s “Black Male Leadership Award,” and Community College of Philadelphia’s “Distinguished Leadership Award,” Jones has written two books of family humor, and his Clear Channel radio commentaries on relationships and parenthood were produced as a 2005 CD called Wisdom. Jones lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two youngest children, and he is currently at work on his next novel.

In 2016 Jermaine’s Dolly’s “YOU” spent 44 consecutive weeks on Billboards hot gospel song chart peeking at #7 and was in the top 10 for 20 plus weeks and on Billboards BDS radio reporting charts for 37 consecutive weeks and in the top 10 for 25 consecutive weeks. On May 19th, 2017 Jermaine Dolly released his debut album called The Dolly Express!! The Dolly Express Debuted Number at #1 in the country on Billboards hot gospel album charts. Jermaine Dolly New Single Come and knock on our Door is currently #10 on the national airplay charts and #15 on Billboards Hottest Gospel song charts. Jermaine Dolly is an independent artist on an independent recording label called “By Any Means Necessary”, and together with no major distribution or funding they managed to make a mark in the Gospel genre. For those that follow Jermaine Dolly know him also as the funny guy on Instagram as he broadcast hilarious videos. Jermaine has toured the globe singing with his mentor Grammy Award Winner Tye Tibbett. Jermaine has been singing background for Tye Tibbett for six long years before he decided to branch out as a solo artist. Jermaine Dolly is forecasted to be one of the most celebrated artist of this generation and generations to come
