In the midst of rumors about Fantasia being pregnant for the second time by the man she began dating while he was married, comes good news for the season 3 winner of “American Idol.” Fantasia will star in the feature-film based on the book “Got to Tell It: Mahalia Jackson, Queen of Gospel” (1993) as Mahalia Jackson.

Fantasia has built her acting resume by starring in the Broadway version of “The Color Purple” as Celie and by starring as herself in “Life Is Not a Fairy Tale: The Fantasia Barrino Story,” which aired on Lifetime.

This forthcoming film about Mahalia Jackson will go into production in April and is scheduled to be released in December. Filming will take place in Chicago.

Since Mahalia Jackson is still revered as the original Queen of Gospel, is it appropriate for Fantasia to take this role after admitting to getting pregnant by her boyfriend while he was married and then aborting their baby?
