CBS News Sunday Morning Spotlights Israel Houghton and CeCe Winans
In a special Easter segment called “Amen!” Sunday Morning correspondents on the CBS News Sunday Morning program will feature Nashville gospel artist CeCe Winans and Integrity Music worship leader, songwriter and recording artist Israel Houghton on Easter morning. The national broadcast of the Easter show will offer a sampling of gospel music today as well as conversations with gospel performers including Houghton and Winans.
Israel Houghton
Israel Houghton is a spokesman for international relief agency World Vision as well as the recipient of six Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards, a Soul Train Award and three GRAMMY Awards. Correspondents from CBS visited Houghton in his hometown of Houston, Texas at Lakewood Church where he also serves as a worship pastor. The Lakewood Church pastor, Joel Osteen, was interviewed for the segment about Houghton.
CeCe Winans
CeCe Winans is known for her successful solo career as well as her 20-year musical partnership with her brother BeBe Winans. As reported in Who are BeBe & CeCe Winans? they have generated 12 chart topping R&B singles, as well as numerous #1 singles on Christian AC and CHR radio, three gold albums and one platinum album.
The segment will air on Easter morning, Sunday, April 4 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. ET.
