(EURWEB)  While Eastern religions and practices are becoming more popular by the day, a Christian pastor begs his congregation and fellow Christians to steer clear of Yoga due to its non-Christian influences. Albert Mohler told AP Yoga’s belief is “that the body is a vehicle for reaching consciousness with the divine.”

Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Seminary and has been getting some interesting responses after he wrote an essay denouncing yoga. He’s not the first, however, conservatives like Pat Robertson, who also spoke some detestable things regarding Haiti.

When told by Christians that they practice Yoga for the exercise, Mohler’s response is, “You’re just not doing yoga.” Christians who practice it “must either deny the reality of what yoga represents or fail to see the contradictions between their Christian commitments and their embrace of yoga.”
