South Jersey Schools have the option to be open or closed on Columbus Day.

Monday is Columbus Day. It is a federal and state holiday. Post offices will be closed; there will be no regular mail delivery. State and local government offices and courts will be closed. Financial markets and stock markets will be open. Banks are closed. Public schools have the option to close.

So in South Jersey the schools are open.
