Ismael Jimenez, educator and co-chair of the Caucus of Working Educators, joined us this morning on Your Voice to tell us about the altercation between his family and the Cinemark Movie Theatre in West Philly. The movie theatre called the police on Jimenez when he tried to go back into the theatre to retrieve his children after being kicked out.

Jimenez took his family to opening night of Jurassic World when the entire night went left. Jimenez complained to staff about a beeping noise in the theatre. He repeatedly got the run around from staff and eventually received a refund for not being satisfied of the theatre services.

Ismael has planned boycotts and protests around the disturbing situation since happening.

In a statement, Cinemark Theatres said “at no time was the family restricted access to their children.”
