If you desire a pure heart, you have to learn to get over yourself! Naturally we are born to think everything is about us! NOT! That’s why it’s important to ask God to clean our house from the inside out as Isaac Carree says in his song. When God cleans He does a new thing to our thoughts and desires.
If you want a clean heart and a clean spirit, the right conduct will get you there. Therefore, ask God to create a pure heart and spirit in you!
