Today marks the one-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, which hit the eastern U.S. this day back in 2012 flooding and dropping snow to become the nation’s second-most expensive weather disaster with a price tag of $65 billion. At least 182 people were killed! New Jersey, New York and the Carribbean were hit the hardest.

Residents along the Jersey Shore continue to rebuild, many choosing to elevate their homes due to the fickle FEMA regulations. However, some residents are not able to elevate their homes and they are frustrated because they have not been given enough money from their insurance companies and FEMA to make mandated changes.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he understands victims’ frustrations but maintains his administration isn’t to blame for delays in aid reaching victims. Christie said that a $51 billion relief package for Sandy victims took Congress three months to approve!

Our prayers continue to go out to the families affected by Superstorm Sandy!
