A marine was originally told he could not leave his base at Camp Pendleton in California to see his daughter graduate from high school in Chicago. The marine, Staff Sergeant Luis Del Valle, missed his daughter’s 8th grade graduation in 2009 because he was serving in Afghanistan. This time around he promised her that he would move heaven and earth to one day attend her graduation. He finally got permission and gave his daughter an emotional surprise in Illinois. He hadn’t seen his daughter since Christmas. But once her class got into formation to walk in, she saw him and it was priceless! Get tissue for this one!

In July, De Valle will move back to Chicago after four years in California.
