We are sorry to announce the passing of gospel singer, Ms. Emily Harris. Ms. Harris was a member of the Bobby Jones and New Life Singers as well as the Nashville Super Choir headed by Dr. Bobby Jones.
A member of the group since its inception, both her smile and signature golden tresses were like literal rays of sunshine, brightly radiating the stage every Sunday morning for the last 30 year on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel Show. Harris, a tenor, was hard to miss as she was always on the front row singing with all her heart.
Sources say that Ms. Harris died as a result of a blood clot while at her Nashville, TN home with her sister. She was pronounced dead at a local Nashville hospital.
Dr. Bobby Jones says, “There was none like her in many ways and she will be surely missed with her brilliant personality and her wonderful voice. Her contribution to the Gospel Music Industry will be missed by the world.”
