It has been a roller-coaster ride for Elder Vanessa Long. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Bishop Long’s wife filed for divorce late Thursday afternoon. She said Friday morning she had changed her mind but by day’s end announced the divorce was on. For Mrs. Long to go back and forth in this matter is proof that this family really need our prayers.
The drama continues to surround New Birth Missionary Church in Georgia, to the point that Bishop Eddie Long has decided to step away for awhile and use this time to heal his family. With his wife and kids by his side, Bishop Long told the congregation that he’s not stepping down; he’s just stepping up to step away. However, he reminded the congregation that he’s still their pastor and will still receive his direction while he’s away.
