An unnamed source has revealed that New Birth Missionary Baptist Church pastor Bishop Eddie Long reportedly settled his case for $25 million and offered an apology to the young men who accused him of sexual misconduct.
According to the web site reddingnewsreview.com the source, who did wish to be identified and claims to be familiar with the details of the settlement also said that Long refused to give a public apology.
The source adds that because Long refused to publicly admit guilt, what began as a $2 million agreement quickly turned into a $5.5 million agreement for the respective plaintiffs.
The source concludes that the final figure comes to $22 million for the four men and $2.8 million for the plaintiffs’ attorneys. The men are to divide $2.2 million equally and then receive $400,000 in payments until the money is paid out over the next 20 years.
