Body of Missing Chester Woman Kortney Staples Found in Delaware River
The body of 33-year-old Kortney Staples, a Chester, Pennsylvania, woman who had been missing since July, was recovered from the Delaware River Sunday, according to divers involved in the search.
Staples was reported missing by the City of Chester Police Department on July 18 after her family last saw her on July 11. Police said she disappeared along with her gray Nissan Altima.
Her body was found after crews recovered a vehicle from the Delaware River near Norris Street in Chester Sunday night, according to Chaos Divers, who assisted with the recovery.
“From the moment the vehicle was located, the mission became about one thing, bringing Kortney home with the dignity and respect she deserved,” Chaos Divers said. The group also expressed gratitude to those involved in the recovery effort.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding Staples’ death. The investigation remains ongoing.
