Donnie McClurkin Responds Denying Sexual Abuse Allegations

Gospel singer and pastor Donnie McClurkin has issued a public statement denying allegations made against him in a recently filed civil lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse.
In a statement released through his attorney, he called the allegations “contrived and untrue” and said he strongly denies any claims of sexual assault, rape, coercion, or misconduct.
As previously reported, “the civil lawsuit was filed by Giuseppe Corletto, who alleges the abuse occurred between 2007 and 2015.” The case is a civil matter, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
In his response, McClurkin said, “With all humility, faith, and deep respect for Christ and this global gospel music and ministry community which has shaped my life, my calling, and my character; I address this letter!” He continued saying, “I have always sought to conduct myself with integrity, transparency, godly care, and responsibility in the fulfillment of my christian life and duties. This accusation of salacious engagement or ANY misconduct that harmed, exploited or took advantage of anyone and misused my position, leadership, or influence in any way in these false accusations is emphatically untrue.”
The longtime gospel artist and pastor acknowledged the seriousness of sexual violence and emphasized that survivors deserve to be heard and supported. At the same time, he said the accusations against him are false and urged the faith community to be patient as the legal process unfolds.
McClurkin ended his statement saying, “I am confident that when the truth is fully known, I will be vindicated. Please pray for the accuser, as well…seriously and sincerely~!”
