The charity run by former Cowboys great Emmitt Smith and his wife, Pat, has been named the official North Texas partner for the 2011 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, which will be held the Friday before Super Bowl XLV.
The partnership was announced Monday. Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities offers programs for local children, some of whom will be able to participate in Super Bowl weekend activities.
The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration is a family event held in each Super Bowl host city featuring current and former NFL players.
Next year’s event will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Music Hall in Fair Park.
Emmitt Smith will co-host along with CeCe Winans, and Grammy-winning artist Israel Houghton will be among the performers.
