Thousands are expected at the Lincoln Memorial for a special Easter Sunrise Service. The interdenominational service which began in 1979, saw 8,000 people in attendance on last year with more expected this year. With visitors from all 50 states and beyond, it has become a go-to destination for believers on a day recognized by Christians all over the world.
The annual event is organized by Capital Church and has become a standard tradition at the memorial. Pastor’s Amos and Sue Dodge say, “we never dreamed that it would grow to this magnitude.”
