Radio-One Philadelphia Air Personality Lady B is a Philadelphia Living Legend! Well, We all knew it already, but now it’s OFFICIAL! Wendy Clark, better known as Lady B, heard daily on our sister station WRNB, was honored on Thursday with City Council’s “Living Legend” award presented for Black History Month. Also receiving the award were Philadelphia media personalities Ukee Washington, Rick Williams and Heshimu Jaramoji.

“B,” as she’s affectionately known, now adds another honor to her long list of accomplishments. The popular radio host was also one of the first  popular female rappers back in the 70’s and was the first to record a studio album. Her radio career began at Philadelphia AM station WHAT and took off from there leading her to other Philly FM stations and eventually to WRNB, where she presides over the daily “Basement Party,” required listening for her many thousands of loyal fans. Lady B is also a much sought-after host for concerts and events all over the area, from the Dell Music Center to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall and beyond, and she’s not done yet! Kudos to our own Living Legend, Lady B! Long may she reign!
