What a way to bring something good out of a humiliating moment.
On Oscars night, when TotalBeauty.com mistook “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg for OWN CEO, Oprah Winfrey in a tweet, the negative reaction was brutal. But the story doesn’t end there.
Total Beauty chose to do something good with the bad press.
“Using this #Oscars #SNAFU as an opportunity to donate $10k to @whoopigoldberg & @oprah’s charity of choice,” the website tweeted Monday, Feb. 29.
The charitable donation, however, didn’t get far as much attention as the embarrassing mistake.
While using Twitter to comment on celebrity looks Sunday, Total Beauty shared a photo of Goldberg, 60, who has a right shoulder tattoo with this caption: “We had no idea @Oprah was #tatted, and we love it…”
