Last Thursday, my aunt (which is my mother’s sister) in my hometown of Memphis, TN, was diagnosed with stomach cancer (Stage 4). In addition, she is also a 12-year breast cancer survivor! She is a fighter!
I just returned to Philly after spending time with her and my family. As she prepares for this new journey of chemo, we were all reminded that, if God did it before, He will do it again! In the name of Jesus!
My aunt is so at peace and the doctors can’t understand why she is not in any pain. I’m telling you, I watched things happen to her body that was painful to watch! The doctors may not understand why she is not in any pain, but I am clear! It’s nothing but God’s grace!
Ultimately, God is in control. God is working it out on the scene, even though we can’t see what He’s doing behind the scenes. No matter our situation, God is in control of the situation room!
I’m grateful and I’m confident that with God, we can face the difficult situations in our lives with boldness! The blessing is that we don’t have to face it alone! I thank God for giving us His Son Jesus to face this challenging time for me and my family; as He gives us strength to accept what He allows!
I want to say a special thank you to Kay Karmell formerly known as “The Church Lady” and her brother Harvey Bellamy, because as soon as I got the news, they called on the favor of God, pulled some strings and got me on the first available flight out of Philly so that I could go home and be with my family in Memphis the next day! I’m so grateful. That’s a true friend! Love you Kay!
