You must embrace your hair. I’ve heard stories of women taking the leap to go natural and then hating it because of the way their hair looked. When it comes down to it, it’s not for everyone. But to truly be about this natural hair life you have to accept your hair, its texture, and everything that comes with it. It’s something different, but you have to fully embrace and love it.

It can be time consuming. I’ve been natural for some time now, so I can pretty much manage my time well when it comes to my hair. But it wasn’t always like that. But the reality is until you can master your own regimen it can cost you some extra time you weren’t spending before.

You have to really want it. If you’re not all in, you will easily slip back into wanting a perm or getting a weave. Don’t make the choice to go natural because it looks like the popular thing to do right now. Do what’s best for you, your hair, and your goals. The easiest way to know if it’s for you is by asking yourself why you want to go natural in the first place. If you can come up with a solid answer that makes sense, go for  it!
