The old is now the new. How many remakes have been done over the last few years? I have lost count. Where are the fresh new ideas for the big screen that can make us laugh like we did back in the day? Can you believe that there is a movie version of the 1970s TV hit ‘Good Times’ in the works? I mean some things are just meant to be left alone!

For the young ones, ‘Good Times’ was a series that CBS ran from 1974-1979 starring Jimmie Walker, John Amos, Esther Rolle and a young Janet Jackson. It was one of the first sitcoms to focus on an African-American, working-class family. James and Florida Evans struggled to get by while raising three kids in a Chicago housing project.
