This Friday at the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration concert, NFL player Ray Lewis will be honored at the University of New Orleans. Creator and producer of the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, Melanie Few-Harrison, say that “Lewis will be honored for his accomplishments and triumphs which have inspired football fans, teammates and colleagues; a true representation of what the essence of the convergence of faith and football is all about.” Lewis has also attended many Super Bowl Gospel Celebrations; as well as sang in the NFL Players Choir.

For 14 years, the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration has been the event at which Grammy Award-winning artists and renowned guests collaborate on stage at the beginning of Super Bowl weekend.  A performance by the NFL Players Choir, composed of current and former NFL players, is the much-anticipated performance of the celebration.

At this year’s event, Sherri Shepherd, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” will host alongside seven-time Grammy-award winning artist Kirk Franklin. Fantasia is set to headline the event, which will also include artists such as Bishop Paul Morton, Marvin Winans, and Donnie McClurkin.
