Game 1 tonight for the NBA finals! It’s the Miami Heat against the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8:30PM ET!

It’s a big game! It’s the first time to the finals for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Heat’s Lebron James is hoping for his first NBA ring!

While I’m excited about this matchup, I’m more excited about the fact that Kevin Durant, the small yet fast forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is praising God; while others are praising his on the court talent!

On www.blackchristiannews.com, Durant says the foundation of his faith in Jesus Christ comes from his family. He explains further that:

“I went to a Christian school. When I was young we went to church a lot but we didn’t go as much when I grew up and got into middle school and high school. I was always intrigued about how we got here. Why do we do the things we do? Who made us like this? My mom often sat me down and talked to me about spiritual things, and I have spiritual teachers that help me out. I’m not perfect by any means. I’ve got a long way to go to become closer to the Lord, but hopefully, I can continue to stay on the path. I might take a few steps forward, and take  of back, and then take some more steps forward, but I want to get better….I go to chapel before every game. I have a spiritual coach that I talk to and he’s helping me out in my walk with the Lord. My teammates do a great job of sticking together and praying for each other. I always try to get better in my walk [with Christ].”
