A measure allowing teachers to pray with students has passed in Tennessee! Praise the Lord! The governor signed legislation this week that permits teachers and other school workers to participate in prayer groups and other religious activities on school grounds. However, the activities must be student-initiated and held either before or after school.
Even with the new law, The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee said public school employees must prevent the impression of endorsing religion.
Personally, I’ll take it. It’s better to have some prayer in our schools to cover our children, than to have no prayer in school at all. Hopefully, other states will reconsider bringing prayer back into our schools as well.
