Greensboro, NC — Grammy-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams will headline the grand opening Celebration of Unity Service for the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, museum officials announced Wednesday.

The service is scheduled for Jan. 31.

Officials also announced that journalist Ed Gordon will host a town hall forum on Jan. 28.

Both events are part of the grand opening festivities for the museum, which is scheduled to open Feb. 1.

“The participation of Ms. Adams and Mr. Gordon underscores the national significance of the museum,” said Earl Jones, North Carolina representative and co-founder of the museum. “It’s wonderful to see so many people joining us in celebrating such a historic event.”
