Do you have a friend that has not been gifted in the area of singing but swears they are? It’s very hard to break the news to a friend who may love music, that they don’t sing well but are you doing them more harm if you don’t? Think about it. Will you be that friend that goes to an audition with your friend only for them not to make the cut and then continue to encourage them to audition yet again? How many music competitions have you watched and giggled with astonishment at a person who has all the support in the world but lacks talent? I think it’s time we stop that trend and start being honest and providing real support and feedback to those in “tone trouble.” Here are a few tips to get you through this difficult task:

2. Be honest
3. Identify their musical goals
4. Do your research
5. Remind them of other talents they posess
6. Help them explore other options
7. Pledge your continued Support
8. End with prayer
