Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Thursday, February 24th. The public became aware of Oprah’s interest in speaking with the embattled NFL star earlier this year during an interview on her show with CNN host Piers Morgan.

Michael Vick’s interview is scheduled to be taped on Tuesday, February 22nd, and according to the Associated Press, “the interview will cover Vick’s time in prison, his work with the Humane Society and his return to the NFL.”

Oprah Winfrey is a dog owner, so it will be interesting to see if she will approach the conversation with Vick as a journalist or a dog lover who’s upset at his prosecution in 2007 for operating a dogfighting operation. Despite serving 18 months in prison for his crime, some animal lovers have not forgiven Vick.

He has been doing public service since his release from prison, and in 2009 he was reinstated into the NFL. In the 2010-2011 season, Vick earned the favor of many football fans for his actions on the football field, and he was able to move from backup to starter, and was an early contender for MVP honors.
