(EURWEB)  Nashville belonged to the best and brightest from the gospel community last weekend, as the nominations for the Stellar Awards were revealed October 23rd. The one-hour telecast of this ceremony was hosted by Donnie McClurkin.

James Fortune led this year’s nominees, earning an impressive ten nods, with seven of those for his collaboration with choir Fiya. Veteran superstars BeBe & CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp also drew seven nominations each.

Kirk Franklin will receive the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award, Vanessa Bell Armstrong will be honored with the Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Legend Award, and Donald Lawrence will receive the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award.

It was also announced that the Female Vocalist of the Year Award has been renamed in honor of the “Queen of Gospel” Albertina Walker, who recently passed away.

Along with nominations highlighting the best gospel artists, there were also nominations revealed for the top radio stations serving urban gospel music.
