Flights at Philadelphia International Airport were slowly but surely returning to normal on Thursday — emphasis on the “slowly.”

Some flights were getting out of Philadelphia on Thursday morning, but more than half of the departures were canceled.

Karen Haigh of Mayfair found out the hard way:

“On the computer it said, ‘on time,’ and when we got here it said, ‘canceled.’ ”

Now, she was trying to rebook her flight to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.:

“I will be happy if I get away! I don’t know if it’ll be today, though.”

Same thing happened to Fran Verna of Abington, Pa., whose flight to Chicago was scrapped:

“Hopefully then can get me on another flight and I can get out sometime today. You just gotta be patient and go with the flow.”

Will he be happy to eventually get out of snowy Philadelphia?

“I’m going to Davenport, Iowa. So I’m expecting more of the same.”
