Stellar Award Winning Gospel Recording Artist Pastor Charles Jenkins has announced that he will be retiring from pastoring at the end of 2019. Pastor Jenkins currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church (“Fellowship Chicago”), founded by Reverend Dr. Clay Evans. Pastor Jenkins joined the pastoral staff nearly 21 years ago in 1998. Then in 2000, he officially succeeded Dr. Evans as Senior Pastor and has since then led the congregation to much growth in all areas.

While it is coming as a surprise to many because of his age, Pastor Jenkins shared his heart and trust in God with an announcement on social media.

Known for his chart-topping songs (“Awesome”, “War”, “Just To Know Him”) as well as for his charismatic stage presence, Jenkins says he is releasing new music in 2019 and he plans to author a book in 2020.

Additionally, he has announced his successor, the Reverend Reginald Sharpe Jr.
