The heavy snow and high winds has left thousands without power across the tri-state.

Authorities expect additional outages as the snow and high winds continue to pummel the Delaware Valley.

In New Jersey, Atlantic City Electric reports 20,173 customers are without power and restoration efforts have been suspended due to the high winds and white out conditions.

PECO says they have 40,000 without power and most of those outages are in Delaware and Chester Counties. PECO says they expect these numbers to go up significantly as the snow continues and the winds pick up. Authorities said this is expected to be a multiple day recovery effort.

In Delaware, Delmarva has 328 customers without power and 229 from Delaware Electric Cooperative are in the dark.
