Our very Sound of Praise’s Maurette Brown Clark was the featured artist at this year’s Praise is the Cure Musical Extravaganza. The program was held at Mt. Airy Church of God In Christ in Philadelphia, and it marked the 13th year that this event has been held by the organization.
Praise is the Cure says their mission is to “eliminate breast cancer disparities among black women by providing education, access to screenings and treatments and other support services.”
This year’s concert featured testimonials, awards and musical performances by the Brockington Ensemble, violinist Somer Jordan, and Brown Clark. Additional programming that day included a Men’s Tailgate party, Survivor’s Pamper Party, a Community Health Fair, and Mammogram Screenings on site.
