Jemele Hill is leaving ESPN, but she is definitely leaving in charge of her destiny, with a deal that earns her close to $6 million. The agreement is based on a multi-year contract she signed in 2016.

Hill is leaving on her own terms, having asked to be released from her position back in July, shortly after the ESPY awards. She will be officially stepping down from her role with the network as of September 1.

What lies ahead? Plans for a media company, Lodge Freeway Media, and other opportunities.
