Tennis Superstar Serena Williams has recently stated that she may still be dealing with postpartum depression, months after giving birth to her first baby girl, Alexis Olympia. Delivered in September by emergency C-Section, Williams has been very vocal in hopes of helping other mom’s bury the stigma of this very common issue.

Williams told Harper’s Bazaar UK: “Honestly, sometimes I think I still have to deal with it. I think people have to talk about it more because it’s almost like the fourth trimester, it’s part of the pregnancy.”

She says that she is “keen” on having another baby soon though, stating that Alexis needs a “little sister”.

I’m a witness that the benefit of having a child definitely outweighs the depression. But if you are in need of help, make sure you consult your physician.
