Here is some freedom.

It’s ok to be sad.

Life happens. Loss of a loved one. Loss of a job. Loss of an opportunity. Loss of a relationship. All things that can lead to sadness.

But the key is not to stay sad. We have a God who is near, who is available anytime you need Him, all you have to do is call. And He is uniquely acquainted with grief.

He knows what you are going through. We just celebrated His resurrection but before that, we grieved His death, the loss of our savior’s life.

But just like He got up, he has given each of us the power to get up. And that takes some work….but He has given you some resources – prayer, fasting, reading His word – all ways to turn you sadness into joy. There are other things we have access to as well – counseling, friendships, family. And maybe you just need some alone time, some tears, some yelling. All of it helps us to not stay sad.

Find a way to say thank you even in whatever situation you face and remember this – And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)

Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
