Apple defrauded iPhone users by slowing devices without warning to compensate for poor battery performance, according to eight lawsuits filed in various federal courts in the week since the company opened up about the year-old software change.

The tweak may have led iPhone owners to misguided attempts to resolve issues over the last year, the lawsuits contend.

All the lawsuits – filed in U.S. District Courts in California, New York and Illinois – seek class-action to represent potentially millions of iPhone owners nationwide.

A similar case was lodged in an Israeli court on Monday, the newspaper Haaretz reported.

Apple did not respond to an email seeking comment on the filings.

Philadelphia and two other major U.S. cities sued the Department of Defense in federal court this week, arguing that many military service members who were disqualified from gun ownership weren’t reported to the national background check system.

The DoD repeatedly failed to report certain criminal history and dishonorable discharge data for service members into the FBI’s national background check system, attorneys representing Philly, New York City and San Francisco said in the suit.

In a statement, Mayor Jim Kenney added that Philly, long plagued by gun violence, relies on the database while conducting background checks on those applying for a gun permit.

“We’re joining in this suit because reporting these records is absolutely critical to those decisions,” Kenney said. “The background check system only works if it contains the proper records.”

The suit claimed that the military’s “broken” system for reporting the information helped lead to the mass shooting in a Texas church last month that claimed 26 lives.

Melania Trump sent Twitter and Instagram into a frenzy this Christmas when she posted a festive-themed selfie complete with a Santa hat. The wife of Donald Trump looked half her age in the snap.

Melania Trump, the 47-year-old First Lady of the United States and wife of President Donald Trump, posted a selfie on the social media site Instagram yesterday.

The former-model used a filter on the app to add a hat to her head, and glittery reindeer to the image.

Melania pouted in the picture, showing off her heavy smokey eye make-up and lipstick. She appeared to be wearing a white dressing gown or a fluffy coat. However, some internet users were not impressed.

Some even claimed the innocuous image made them pine for the previous First Lady Michelle Obama.

One said: “Stay classy Melania. I miss Michelle.”
