Larry Krasner Wins Race For DA In Philadelphia
On Tuesday evening, Democrat Larry Krasner was declared the winner in the race for the office of Philadelphia District Attorney. The long standing defense lawyer plans to bring changes to the office in his new role as the city’s top prosecutor despite having insufficient prosecutorial experience along with establishment support.
Krasner’s opponent, Republican Rebecca Grossman failed in convincing voters that her 20+ years as an assistant district attorney would have made her the better choice.
Democrats Northam, Murphy Win Gubernatorial Races In Virginia And New Jersey
Democratic victories were celebrated in New Jersey and Virginia as Phil Murphy defeated Republican Kim Guadagno in New Jersey and Ralph Northam beat Republican Ed Gillespie in Virginia.
In celebration of the democratic wins, Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said voters in New Jersey and Virginia “rejected a Trump-Pence agenda.”
Texas shooting suspect escaped from mental health hospital in 2012
According to an El Paso Police Department report, the gunman who killed more than two dozen people inside a Texas church escaped from a mental health hospital in 2012. The report said Devin Kelley “was attempting to carry out death threats” that he “had made on his military chain of command.”
The report also detailed a witness that said, “Kelley suffered from mental disorders and had plans to run from Peak Behavioral Health Services.”
Per the report, Kelley was caught sneaking firearms onto the New Mexico Air Force Base where he served.
An Air Force official confirmed the details in the El Paso Police Department report.
